Two-thirds of Britons want Boris Johnson to leave if he receives more party fines | News

Nearly two-thirds of Britons believe Boris Johnson should resign if more fines are imposed on him on Downing Street parties, according to a survey.

The prime minister paid a £ 50 fine this week after metropolitan police concluded he had violated his own blocking laws.

The fine was triggered by a birthday party in Johnson’s office on June 19, 2020. Rishi Sunak, who was also present, was also fined, as was Johnson’s wife, Carrie.

However, Johnson is believed to have been involved in at least five of the other 11 events investigated by the Metropolitan. Since birthday gatherings are thought to have been at the less serious end of the spectrum, Downing Street is ready to do so.
