Ukrainian forces have killed two more Russian generals in a strike at a command post near occupied Kherson, authorities said on Saturday. This will lead to at least nine since the start of Russia’s “special operation” against Ukraine on February 24. The intelligence department of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense announced the strike on Saturday, saying that the “crushing blow” was inflicted on the operational center of the 49th Combined Army of the Russian Armed Forces. The command post, according to Ukraine’s military intelligence, “contrary to common sense … was only a short distance” from the front line in the Kherson region. They said a third Russian general was seriously injured in the strike. An adviser to Ukrainian President Alexei Arestovich, in an interview with a former lawyer who turned into journalist Mark Fagin on Saturday, said he believed the third general “would not survive”. He said Ukrainian intelligence was still busy identifying those killed, but there were about 50 high-ranking Russian officers at the command post at the time.
