US PGA Championship 2022: third round – live! | USA PGA

From the center of the 7th fairway McIlroy is cut dangerously close to more water. His ball rests on the sprayer’s head, so he gets a free fall. The chip is not great and he can’t make the 15-foot shot he leaves alone. He is +1, now nine from Pereira’s lead. The difference between Thursday Rory and Friday-Saturday Rory is chalk and cheese. This is ruin. Can he rediscover this fashion from the first round? He will have to do this quickly if he wants to save his bid for a third PGA title.

Zalatoris, very reluctant to use it, led the field with the flat stick after 36 holes. He certainly won’t be after 54. He passes this one to the right of the cup. Never drop. This is a farce with a flat stick. Pereira does his thing without much fuss and the Chilean seems completely unperturbed.

-10: Pereira (6) -6: Zalatoris (6) -5: Thomas (6), Watson (6)

Zalatoris doesn’t like the water he made for McIlroy on the 6th pair-three, but he plays too safe and ends up down the slope to the right of the green. He does extremely well to hit up to six feet. Pereira, meanwhile, has found the bunker in front. It sprays five feet. They both have a little work to do.

Jordan Spit saves a nominal position of 18 by throwing 20 feet, but signed for the disappointing, though sometimes very amusing, 74. He is +5 and the slam in his career will have to wait at least until Oak Hill next year. Back at 6, his friend Justin Thomas missed a tidler to fall back to -5.

Mito Pereira gently points his slider from right to left – he was more than ten feet out of 15 – and suddenly he leads by three! The 27-year-old Chilean threatens a shock of the size of the Daily Beam-Michelle! Two-password password for Zalatoris. Meanwhile, at 6, McIlroy took his drop, did not approach the wedge, and then competed with his shot four feet past him. In the end, he is lucky enough to limit the damage to a Shambhala double, but walks away from the green with the face of a man who knows he’s in the process of missing out on a great opportunity for an eight-year-old major to slip through his fingers. He certainly didn’t play big money yesterday and doesn’t look any better today. He is -2.

-10: Pereira (5) -7: Zalatoris (5) -6: Thomas (5) -5: Ansera (6), Watson (5)

Pereira’s bribe looks absolutely expressionless! From the center of the 5th par-five, he wedged himself 15 feet, looking up at the birdie. Will Zalatoris is not half sure at the moment and from a similar position sends his approach to the back left of the green. It will also have a bird drone, albeit from a much greater distance, and this is the kind of punch that left it pretty short on the previous hole.

Another bird for Matt Fitzpatrick! He jingled at 20 feet at 6. This is only the fifth bird of the complex pair-three today; today he plays the hardest hole with an average score of 3.62. Fitzpatrick hit a shot and a half on the field! It returns to -3 and all these early damages have already been repaired. And as if to illustrate how difficult the hole is, after Fitzpatrick leaves, Rory McIlroy pulls his blow at Tyrels Creek. Thursday morning suddenly feels a long time ago.

Abraham Anser interrupts a series of pars with a bird on the 5th par-pet. His partner Rory McIlroy’s nominal run continues. They are -5 and -4, respectively. On the 6th, Stewart Cink sends his tea shot wide to the right, wary of water, then discards his chip. Future brings it back to -3. And back at 4, Pereira rose and fell in front, Chip screamed to stop five feet from the cup, the slider from left to right hooked. which leaves too much work to withstand his rotten constitution over short distances. Thrill with three strokes.

-9: Pereira (4) -7: Zalatoris (4) -6: Thomas (4) -5: Ansera (5), Watson (4) -4: Riley (5), McIlroy (5)

Pereira sends his shot at 4 in the rough shot on the right. It is a snooker made of wood and can only be pulled out to the side, in front of a green. Zalatoris’s shot flew in exactly the same direction, but bounced off the path of the cart and away from the awkward tree. However, he can’t take advantage of his happy breakthrough by hitting a hot chip that almost falls off the back of the green. Not so close.

It was a slow start for Matt Fitzpatrick, who broke the first two holes. But he took a step back in the rankings, coming out of a deep bunker in front of 5. The bird brought him back to -2. However, the water troubles of Tyrrell Hatton continue: he finds deep blue again at par-three 6th and intensifies with double. He is +2 and every outside chance he has had to fight for the title this weekend already looks like a coat.

Disappointment for Will Zalatoris at 3. He made a great six-foot approach, but missed his first ten-foot inside shot in 22 attempts with a very uncertain shot. There is a great chance for a bird. Leader Mito Pereira makes a calm pair with two strokes to keep one at the helm. Meanwhile, on the 4th, Justin Thomas makes a 25-foot slider from right to left for a bird, repairing the damage to this opening melt. Returns to -6. Meanwhile, his partner Bubba Watson bounces back from a 3-foot slipper (caused by a chip that fails to make it from the fake front) with a 4-bird (a prize for a 60-yard to five-foot wedge).

-9: Pereira (3) -8: Zalatoris (3) -6: Thomas (4) -5: Watson (4) -4: Zinc (5), Riley (4), Anser (4), McIlroy (4) -3: Young (6)

Jon Rahm, one of the favorites before the tournament, scored 76. His mood was not helped by a brief blow to the latter’s horseshoe. Overall it is +8.

Cameron Young finished strong yesterday, coming home with 32 strokes. This ensures that the 25-year-old from New York will make his first major victory after failing twice at the US Open and the Masters last month. This is his PGA Championship debut and he is still doing well; the birds of 5 and 6 sent him to -3. His playing partner and namesake, Cam Smith, is sadly heading in the other direction: gods at 1 and now at 6, and the Players champion returns to nominal level.

Great moment on 2! Zalatoris shoots well but he has a deflected shot which is saved by the opponent’s keeper. Zalatoris smiles when Pereira finds the heart of the greenery, but there is frost around his teeth. Zalatoris is left with two long strokes for face value and he leaves the first six feet shorter. Pereira increased the pressure by knocking on his 20-foot blunt. Zalatoris is doing very well to go to its nominal savior. This is huge. A great start, including a two-shot swing in one hole, would be truly disgusting. He is still far from perfect for Zalatoris, especially since Pereira seems insensitive at the moment.

-9: Pereira (2) -8: Zalatoris (2) -5: Thomas (2), Watson (2) -4: Riley (4), Zinc (4), McIlroy (3), Ansera (3)

Good up and down from Bubba, who sent his second to 2 down the shore to the left. Normal start for yesterday’s hero with 63 shots. He stays at -5. And that’s an equal start for Rory, who is almost rushing from the front of 3. Another joule of energy and it was inside, but he has to turn on to stay at -4. He spins around in disappointment, though it was a wonderfully delicate touch.

Pereira almost pierced his wedge from the hopper at 1, but the ball rolled six feet past him. Zalatoris does not threaten the cup with his experience and cannot get close. He strikes a hesitant nominal savior and must intervene for initial tobacco. Pereira makes his shot, returning for an equalizer, and the 27-year-old PGA debutant has a share of the lead!

-8: Pereira (1), Zalatoris (1) -5: Watson (1), Thomas (1) -4: Ansera (2), McIlroy (2)

It’s not the perfect start for Justin Thomas, who sends his second 1 down and can’t get up and down to escape at face value. Leading for so long yesterday afternoon, he returns to -5, now four of the lead. But there is some immediate hope for the pursuing pack as nerves flutter in the final group: both Will Zalatoris and Mito Pereira send their second strikes to 1 in the bunker guarding the front right side of the green. There are several potentially defining round splashes ahead!

“Of course, golf is a very strange game,” John Weldon began. “After all, it was invented by the Scots to fuck up the British. Just look at Tyrell Hatton. How! Speaking of everyone’s favorite volcanic golfer, he ended up with a triple seven after finding the drink at 2. He collapses back to nominal level, steam pouring from his feet. God knows what mood he will be in tomorrow if Manchester City seals the title with another goal in the 94th minute to deny his beloved Liverpool. One way or another, it may be worth keeping an eye on him. In fact, the always funny Hatton is always worth keeping an eye on, but you understand the general point.

Matt Fitzpatrick and Davis Riley are dating together today, but they didn’t have such a good time on the 1st. For the pair of them, they also fall to -2 and -3, respectively. Better news for 2019 US Open champion Gary Woodland, who makes his first bird of the day at 4 to move to -3. And a little Dumbuster-style pleasure for Jordan Spiet at 12: after sending his tee into the trees on the left, he tries to make his way under the branches to the green. His ball is directed to a small river, but instead of diving into the brine, it is aquaplaned. One bounce and it’s over! Dry! However, he simply deviated from this for a whole week, even though he clung to hope with his fingernails and cut into pieces the rest he had left. He can’t make the nominal savior, and that’s the timidity his second shot deserved in the first place. He’s +4 … and he had some weird golf today.

A reassuring start for Rory McIlroy … maybe. He sends his initial drive in the rough down to the left, then pulls his …
