COLOMBIA – South Carolina US Representative Nancy Mace is engaged, her campaign was announced on May 15.
In a video posted on her YouTube campaign page over the weekend, her future husband, Charleston technology entrepreneur Patrick Bryant, can be seen placing a microphone and hiding behind the door of random voters.
Unsuspecting Mace – who believes she’s shooting a b-roll for commercials – opens the door and finds Bryant waiting inside with a ring.
I said yes!!! I was told that we would knock on the door and shoot b-roll. My friend had other plans. 💍 pic.twitter.com/8FPCg0lHKa

The first-term congresswoman, who is in the middle of a controversial GOP primary for re-election, said yes.
The proposal came over a busy weekend for the congresswoman, who was in the county for official and election cases. Mace was in Somerville on May 14 to attend a Republican event in Dorchester County, where he met with voters and delivered a sad speech with Trump-approved leading opponent Katie Arrington.

Former television producer Bryant, who has been dating Mace for several years, is a longtime Charleston-based entrepreneur with stakes in several businesses in the region, according to his LinkedIn page.
He has also served as chairman of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce and most recently served as chief executive at local software development firm CODE / + / TRUST, which develops software for a suite of corporate and government clients across the country.
The news comes after an article in Politico published about Mace’s recent joint purchase of a home for more than $ 1.6 million near the US Capitol in Washington, DC. Property records show that Bryant is the majority owner of the property, which the couple bought in March 2021.
Mace, who lives on Daniel Island, told The Post and Courier that she plans to move “later this year”, but said in a text message that she would stay in the area.
