A’s 1 Blue Jays 4
Just a home run for Vlad tonight. It is hardly worth mentioning.
We had 11 hits during the day and 5 walks, so you would imagine we had to score more than 4 runs. But it was enough. Vlad, Lourdes, Ramel Tapia and Zach Collins have two goals each. Everyone else had one goal, except Matt Chapman (who walked twice) and Cavan Biggio (who was hit from the field).
We achieved one run in four different innings:
- First inning: Vlad’s home run.
- Second inning: Tapia had one out and Santiago Espinal doubled it at home. Tapia can motorcycle.
- Sixth inning: Lourdes took the lead with a single. After a phantom objection, Chapman left. Kirk, pinch, hit in a double game. Espinal was walking. Zack Colin chose Lourdes at home for his first RBI as Blue Jay.
- Seventh inning: George Springer doubled (just above right fielder Seth Brown, I could catch that catch). After an out and deliberate walk by Guerrero, Lourdes doubles right next to diving Tony Kemp on the left. He almost made a great catch.
And we had a well-placed match.
With a point start, Ross Stripling threw 4 excellent innings, allowing 2 hits, with 3 outs. He was very sharp. It would have been nice for him to make 5, but he threw 62 pitches, which was a decent amount as he was not stretched to be a starter.
- Trevor Richards: 1 inning, 1 stroke, 1 k.
- Tim Maiza: I only got 1 out, giving up 2 goals. Nothing was hit hard, but they managed to avoid field players.
- Adam Simber: A killer passed over his head (he really deviated from his glove) and entered the field, noting the run of A. He made a quick 7th, getting 3 outs. Simber won, his third of the season. Difficult to
- Yimi Garcia: 1 inning, 1 k.
- Jordan Romano: 1 inning, 2 outs. His fifth save of the season.
Jace of the day: Stripling (.213 WPA), Vlad (.103), Lourdes (.100), Cimber (.093) and Collins (.0920).
Without Sukjaji’s Jace, although Kirk came close to -.089, all with his double play.
Collins caught his first full game for Jace and it felt good. And he had some good bats.
Jace is now 5-3. Tomorrow Ryu starts for Jace. Paul Blackburn received the ball for A. He made 5 high innings in his first game of the season.
