Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled to travel to the United States to meet with President Joe Biden at the White House tomorrow.
The trip will mark the first time the Ukrainian president has left Ukraine since Russia’s February 24 invasion.
The visit has not yet been confirmed by Washington due to concerns about Mr Zelensky’s security and could still be canceled at the last minute.

The Ukrainian president will also address Congress on Capitol Hill.
He will also meet with congressional leadership and the heads of the Republican and Democratic national security committees, according to Punchbowl News.
Earlier today, Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi said there will be a session of Congress tomorrow night that will have a “very special focus on democracy.”
US politicians are poised to vote on a spending package at the end of the year, including around $45bn (£37bn) in emergency aid for Ukraine. Meanwhile, the US is preparing to send Patriot surface-to-air missiles to help the country repel a Russian invasion.
The funding will be the largest US aid infusion to date for Ukraine, surpassing President Biden’s emergency request for $37bn (£30bn) and will keep the war effort flowing for months to come.

A surprise visit to frontline troops
It comes after Mr Zelensky made a surprise visit to troops in the frontline town of Bakhmut in Ukraine’s contested Donetsk region.
Visiting the scene of some of the most intense fighting since Russia invaded Ukraine, Mr Zelensky praised the “courage, endurance and strength” of his troops.
In a video released by his office, Mr Zelensky was handed a Ukrainian flag and hinted at delivering it to US leaders.
“The boys handed over our beautiful Ukrainian flag with their signatures for us to hand over,” Mr Zelensky said.
“We are not in an easy situation. The enemy is increasing his army, and our men are bolder and need more powerful weapons. We’re going to take it from the Congress boys, to the President of the United States. We are grateful for their support, but it is not enough. It’s a hint – it’s not enough.”
