A fire broke out in a building in Salem, Massachusetts, on Monday, officials said.
According to the fire department in Salem, a neighboring house is also on fire.
The department and city officials urged people to avoid the area of the fire on Hancock Street.
The #SalemMA fire service responded to a fire with three alarms on Hancock Street. Please avoid the area and do not approach the scene. The crews expect to deal with the situation for some time.

Officials announced a number of road closures, including Canal Street between Washington Street and Laurel Street; Hancock Street on Canal Street; Canal Street on Gardner Street; Gardner Street on Cabot Street; and Cabot Street on Roslyn Street.
