One man is dead and another is in hospital after an accident in the southeastern part of Calgary in Midnapur.
Calgary police say they received a call shortly before 10:40 a.m. Tuesday on a clash between Midpark Boulevard and Midlake Boulevard SE

Police said on Tuesday night that the son of a Chevrolet Camaro – believed to be driven by a 20-year-old man – was stopped at a red light as he headed north on Midpark Boulevard SE
They said a black Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by a 79-year-old man, was traveling east on Midlake SE Boulevard and crossing the concrete meridian that separates traffic north and south on Midpark Boulevard.

Hyundai then entered the northern lanes and struck the Camaro driver’s side, pushing the Camaro to the east, while both vehicles crossed the east sidewalk and broke through the back garden fence of a house located in block 200 of Midpark Gardens, coming to rest. on the grass near the garden, “a police statement said.

For most of the day, the eastern lanes of Midlake Boulevard SE were closed between the Macleod Trail and Midpark Rise, as well as all directions of Midpark Boulevard.
Police opened district roads after 4 p.m.
