Toronto Public Health (TPH) says a new case of the monkeypox virus has been confirmed.
In a series of tweets on Thursday afternoon, TPH said there were nine positive cases of monkeypox and 23 cases under investigation as of Thursday at 3 p.m.

“There are 1 new lab-confirmed case since our last update,” the tweet said.

TPH said it would “continue to keep the public informed with updated data” from 3pm Monday to Friday
The health unit announced the first laboratory-confirmed case of the virus in the city on May 26th.
