A boy as young as ten received “incurable” injuries after being beaten to death by an 8-year-old dog. Jack Lis, 10, of Caerphilly, was killed by a large bulldog named Beast, which was owned by Brandon Hayden, 19, and Amy Salter, 28.
Hayden and Salter pleaded guilty today to being responsible for a dangerous dog out of control that caused severe injuries to Jack’s head and neck. The incident took place on November 8.
Hayden also admitted three more charges of being responsible for a dangerously uncontrollable dog and two allegations of being responsible for a dangerously uncontrollable dog causing injury. The two will be convicted on June 10 at the Newport Crown Court.

Speaking at the time of his death, Jack’s family said: “We are absolutely heartbroken. Our lives will never be the same without Jack. This is not something a parent should write about. We have so many words to say about our handsome boy, but they don’t seem enough.
“We love him more than words can describe. Our boy made us the proudest parents and family on the planet. He was the sweetest boy. We will forever miss his strange ways and his stories that he would spend so long telling us. He is forever in our hearts. Sweet dreams Jack, our perfect boy. ”
Jack was out of his house “playing with a friend” when they went to his friend’s house next door. He was then attacked by the dog, an investigation was carried out.
