Two 14-year-old friends were killed when their SUV hit a tree on Thursday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said. A third boy needed to be hospitalized for minor injuries.
According to the CHP, Michael Bazan, Noah Lychee and their 15-year-old friend were riding a quadruple ATV on Margaret Lane in Winters, California, when the vehicle veered off the road. He then hit a tree and the three boys were thrown out, killing Bazan and Lychva. The boys were pronounced dead on the spot.
“Noah was everything,” Lichwa’s mother told KCRA on Friday.

A vigil was held on Friday night at the Winter High School, where the boys were students. KCRA announced that Elevate Barbershop in Winters will donate its winnings on Monday to the Bazan family.
“I’m just trying to do my part, what I can for the family,” said owner Miguel Fieros. “I have to cut [Bazan’s] hairstyle for his big days, high school promotion, birthday parties. “
CHP is investigating the crash; they do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the tragedy.
