2 died in a head-on crash on Highway 2 near Ocotox, several lanes closed

The RCMP confirms that two people died after a highway accident south of Calgary on Friday morning.

Emergency crews responded in the southern lanes of Highway 2, just south of the overpass of Highway 2A, just before 9 a.m.

According to EMS officials, a male sprint vehicle in the north drove into the southern lanes of the highway and collided with a female jeep.

Both drivers were found dead on the spot.

The trip south in the area was reduced to one lane during the investigation.
