The NBA draft has always been a hotbed of deals, but 2022 was particularly hectic. There were many deals made by struggling teams that wanted more choice, and by recovering franchises handing out parts for future consideration.
Despite the build-up, the biggest name that changed teams on Thursday night was guard Kemba Walker, who moved from the New York Knicks to the Detroit Pistons until New York completed a series of moves. Walker is expected to be bought out of Detroit and become a free agent, while the Pistons added number 13 through Charlotte in a deal they used against the big man Jalen Duren.
