Earlier this week, Apple’s renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple plans to launch at least one iPhone 15 model with a USB-C port in 2023. Now, in a subsequent tweet, he said that accessories such as AirPods, MagSafe battery and the Magic Keyboard / Mouse / Trackpad trio will also switch to USB-C in the “foreseeable future”.
Both the iPhone and all the aforementioned accessories currently rely on Apple’s own Lightning connector. Switching to USB-C would lead to a more universal charging standard, as a wide range of technology products are equipped with USB-C ports, including the latest MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iPad Pro, iPad Air and iPad mini.

Kuo also suggested that it was too early for Apple to launch an unportable iPhone due to current wireless technology constraints and the immaturity of Apple’s own MagSafe ecosystem of wireless accessories that magnetically attach to the iPhone.
