Lincoln, Nebraska crash: 2 killed and at least 19 injured when vehicles collided with a crowd

At least one of the 19 injured is in critical condition, while the rest were transported to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, Lincoln Police Captain Max Hubka told CNN early Monday.

At around 10:45 pm on Sunday, a vehicle was traveling west near 52nd and Oh streets, Hubka said. When another vehicle turned left to head east, a T-bone crash struck pedestrians on the street, he said.

There are many events during the Remembrance Day weekend in the city with many “pedestrians and passers-by on the street,” Hubka said.

“We had people sitting on the sidewalk when the accident happened,” he said.

Two women who were in one of the vehicles died while the driver of the other vehicle was being treated at hospital, Hubka said. It is unclear which passengers are in which vehicle, he said.
