Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was arrested for allegedly drunk driving after a collision between two vehicles in their home state of California late Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol and court records.
The CHP says the 82-year-old Pelosi has been driving a Porsche since 2021, which has been hit by a jeep since 2014, when Pelosi’s car tried to cross a state road in Napa County. Pelosi was detained at the Napa County Detention Center on two DUI charges.
He was released on Sunday morning on $ 5,000 bail, according to court records.
No one was injured and the driver of the jeep was not detained, added the CHP.
“The spokesman will not comment on this personal issue, which happened while she was on the East Coast,” a spokesman for Pelosi told CBS News.
Nancy Pelosi was in Rhode Island on Saturday to give a speech at the opening at Brown University.
