Arizona Pipeline Fire Evacuates, Suspect Arrested

A wildfire broke out near Flagstaff, Arizona on Sunday morning, rising to more than 1,000 acres and causing an evacuation.

The “Pipeline Fire” signal came after 10 a.m., about six miles north of Flagstaff. Firefighters were working to contain the blaze.

The photos show streams of smoke swirling toward the sky, visible from Flagstaff. Officials said the wind was carrying smoke through the Schultz Pass to Donnie Park.

The American Red Cross in Arizona announced that it is opening a shelter at the synagogue high school on 3950 E Butler Ave in Flagstaff for evacuees.

Meanwhile, the suspect is in custody in connection with the fire, although the charges remain unclear, Phoenix’s FOX 10 reported.
