We knew they were coming, but Capcom announced that its PS5 and Xbox Series X / S copies of Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7 will launch today, June 13th.
All three titles – that is, remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3, plus Resident Evil 7 – will include support for 4K resolution, “high” frame rate, beam tracking and 3D audio.
Players who have not yet experienced the games will be able to purchase recently updated versions of the Xbox Series X / S and PS5 from their respective stores, but existing Xbox One and PS4 owners can pick up updates suitable for their platform without additional costs. Savings will also be transferred.
Resident Evil 7, 2, 3 – Next generation trailer.
News of the previously promised upgrades from the current generation of Capcom comes with a number of additional announcements related to the long-standing Resident Evil series.
These include the October release date of Resident Evil Village’s multiplayer Re-Verse spin-off, plus the exciting (if not entirely surprising) news that players will soon be able to step into the shoes of Village fans’ favorite, Lady Dimitrescu.
