More than one million voters in the United States have changed their Republican affiliation over the past 12 months, painting a bleak picture of Democrats in the 2022 by-elections.

The PP benefits most in the suburbs of large and medium-sized cities, where voters who backed President Biden in 2020 are battling inflation and becoming increasingly critical of democratic social issues, according to an analysis by the Associated Press.

Approximately 1.7 million Americans have changed party affiliations in the past 12 months. Two-thirds of them joined the Republican Party, while only 630,000 joined the Democratic Party, according to the report.

While not the last nail in the coffin for Democrats, the voter trend is another indicator that Republicans could make big gains in Congress and state governments across the country in November.

The Biden administration is struggling to cope with soaring gas prices, as well as inflation, which is at its peak for 40 years and shows no signs of slowing down.

Members of Biden’s own party have criticized the White House’s response to the economic crisis, saying it was too passive.

“I support the president’s efforts, but we need a bolder vision and faster action,” Ro Ro Han, a spokeswoman for D-California, told the New York Times earlier in June.

“In order to respond at the moment, Mr. Biden must convening an emergency task force empowered to reduce prices and address shortages. We need full mobilization, not just a few ad hoc initiatives that respond to headlines, “he added.
