A teenager has been arrested and the second suspect remains unknown after being stabbed at a bus stop in Thornhill earlier this month.
The incident happened on May 9 shortly after 1 pm in the area of Royal Orchard Boulevard and Yonge Street.
York Regional Police said a man got off a Viva bus and stabbed another man several times while waiting at the bus stop.
While this was happening, a third man, who was also at the bus stop, continued to film the incident.
Police said the two suspects fled the scene on foot.
When officers arrived, they found the victim with stab wounds. He was transported to hospital with serious injuries, but without danger to life.
Police said on Thursday that one of the suspects, a 16-year-old Markham boy, had been arrested and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon, aggravated assault and two counts of probation.
Police said they were still looking for the second suspect, who was described as a man, tall, thin, dark hair and clean-shaven. He was wearing a red backpack, a dark jacket and pants, a red and white multicolored hood, and sunglasses.
They ask anyone with information to contact the York Regional Bureau of Criminal Investigation № 2 at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7241 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.
