A 21-year-old man has received life-changing injuries after being attacked in a park in Swindon tonight.
Police remain at the scene in Lawns Park – next to The Planks in the Old Town – where a cordon has been set for about 5 pm while they gather evidence.
The victim has since been taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with serious injuries.
His injuries are said to be life-changing, but not life-threatening.
No one has been detained in connection with the incident, but the investigation is ongoing.
In a statement tonight, Wiltshire police said: “Currently, officers have cordoned off an area in The Planks, Old Town, after a serious attack earlier tonight (28/6).
“We received a call shortly after 5 pm after reports that a 21-year-old man had been attacked.
“He was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and his injuries are thought to be life-changing, but not life-threatening.
“No arrests have been made so far in connection with the incident, but our investigations are ongoing.
“Anyone with information should call us at 101 and quote diary number 225 from today.”
