A 4-year-old boy drowned in a residential pool in the Montreal area

A four-year-old boy died Saturday after being found unconscious in a residential pool in Saint-Lambert, on the south coast of Montreal.

According to information from the police in Longueuil (SPAL), emergency services were called around 16:10 after the discovery of the young boy on Normandie Ave.

“Maneuvers were taken quickly as soon as the first responders arrived. A cardiac defibrillator was also used,” a SPAL statement said.

The child was transported to hospital, where he was found dead shortly after 5 p.m.

An investigation has been launched to establish the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
