A 57-year-old man has died following a drowning accident in Witless Bay on Saturday.
Police responded to a report of a body found submerged in the water at a local swimming hole near Southside Track Road just before 8:00 Saturday night.
The Witless Bay Volunteer Fire Department retrieved the body from the water. Emergency medical services were unable to revive the man.
RCMP are working with the Office of the Chief Medical Officer as their investigation continues.
