Does Holgate have a future at the heart of Everton’s defense against Matt Townsend

Everton boss Frank Lampard is set to refresh the midfield this summer and attract new faces to the midfield. Everton have expressed interest in attracting Connor Gallagher from Chelsea after his successful tenure at Crystal Palace.

At Crystal Palace, Gallagher was named Player of the Year for his stunning performance in the team’s engine room. The Englishman scored eight goals and assisted in 39 games for the Eagles. His slingshot raised questions about his future after the loan period.

Gallagher was a precious player in the Palace, contributing to the attacking phase of the game. Gallagher produced 2.8 shots, creating action in 90 minutes, while performing 1.5 successful dribbles per game. His perfectly weighed passes and the vision of spotting an attacking player making a dangerous run make him an advantage for the team.

Gallagher was sent on loan last season because the Englishman would be fighting for playing time at Chelsea. The 22-year-old scored 2,851 minutes in the Premier League, a figure he would never have reached if he had stayed at Stamford Bridge.

Everton wanted Connor Gallagher

Everton are said to be interested in Gallagher along with Palace and West Ham United. For Gallagher, he always wanted to succeed at Chelsea. Before the next season, the 22-year-old had to meet with Thomas Tuchel to decide his future at the club.

According to football.london, Tuhel has confirmed that Gallagher will not be a rotating player, but will instead be an important part of the manager’s plans for next season. The Englishman is ready to return to Chelsea and fight for his place in the team.

This will probably be music for the ears of Chelsea fans, but not so much for Everton fans. Gallagher is one of the most promising midfielders in the country at the moment and hiring him would do a lot of good for Toffees.

Everton will be more active against other goals such as Shake Ducur. The signing of the midfielder should be an absolute priority this summer, as Donnie van de Beek returns to Manchester United. Fabian Delph’s deal is expiring and so far there are no indications of his renewal, and the possibility of replacing Andre Gomez will also leave Everton with minimal opportunities in the midfield.

But Gallagher seems to be out of range.

Since the deal with Connor Gallagher is beyond doubt, which midfielder should the Royal Blues target?
