An amusement park in California was forced to close early after multiple panic-inducing fights broke out.
Buena Park police also said multiple 911 callers also reported shots fired at Knotts Berry Farm, although investigators determined there was no shooting at the amusement park.
“We are currently working on an incident at Knott’s Berry Farm involving multiple fights at the park,” the Buena Park Police Department said. “A report of shots fired was reported with multiple calls to 911. Officers were on scene during the calls and determined there was no shooting.”
“Knotts Berry Farm is closed for the night and we ask that you avoid the area until further notice,” the department added in its public advisory posted on Saturday night.

FOX 11 Los Angeles reported that the first reports of shots fired came in around 8:00 p.m. local time. News footage from a helicopter over the park showed the welcome gate lights turned off at 9 p.m.
A video on social media shows park guards tackling groups of young people to break up a brawl. Additional footage shows a young man being punched multiple times by another park visitor on the sidewalk.
The Orange County Fire Department said three people were injured in the fights. Two people were transported to area hospitals, and the third refused to be admitted for further medical attention.

The park was due to be open until 11pm on Saturday for Knott’s Summer Nights.
“The safety of Knott’s Berry Farm guests and associates is always our top priority,” the park said in a statement. “On Saturday night, the decision was made to close the park 3 hours early due to unruly behavior and altercations involving a number of teenagers. This behavior was inconsistent with the values of our park and was not the experience we want every guest to have while visiting Knott’s Berry Farm.”

The park was scheduled to reopen on Sunday.
