A GROUP of people have been hospitalized after a car plowed into them during a hit and run in St Helens.
At around 9.30pm, on Friday July 8, police were called to reports of a woman who had been found lying on North Road.
Officers have spoken to witnesses at the scene and it is believed that a fight involving a group of people broke out prior to the incident.

A Ford Fiesta reportedly crashed into several people during the disturbance.
The vehicle is then believed to have left the scene and was found abandoned a short distance away.
A woman in her 30s and a man in her 40s were taken to hospital with head injuries, and a woman in her 40s was taken to hospital with back and facial injuries.
None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
A 20-year-old woman, a 38-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of fraud.
An investigation into the incident is underway and inquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Graham Osborne said: “Our inquiries are at an early stage as we try to establish what happened last night. We are carrying out door-to-door, CCTV and witness interviews and are appealing for anyone who can help with our investigation to contact us.
