When Jeremy Clarkson outsmarted local planners to open a restaurant on his farm, he boasted it was the result of finding a “clever little loophole”.
However, the broadcaster may be about to find out that council officers are not giving up so easily after an investigation was launched into the Diddly Squat restaurant at his Cotswolds property.
His initial application to open a restaurant was rejected by West Oxfordshire District Council in January.
Seven out of ten councilors on the Highlands planning sub-committee voted against plans for a 50-seat restaurant next to Clarkson’s Farm Shop in Chadlington, Oxfordshire.
However, in July, Clarkson said he found another barn that met the criteria for a change of use without planning permission.
