A motorcyclist died after “losing control” of his motorcycle on a highway slip.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash at junction 18 of the M62 yesterday afternoon (Tuesday), where the road merges into the M60. Officers found that the driver of the Yamaha motorcycle lost control while driving on the eastern road of the M62, police said.
The rider – a man aged about 60 – was rushed to hospital from the scene. He was tragically pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

Greater Manchester police said close relatives had been informed. Now the investigators of the clash are appealing to all witnesses of the accident – which happened around 2.50 pm – to appear.
In a statement, a GMP spokesman said: “Around 2:50 pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, we received a report of a collision at junction 18 of the M60 and M62. Investigations found that the driver of the Yamaha motorcycle lost control of the vehicle when it entered the eastern road of the M62.
“The rider, a 60-year-old man, was taken to hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead. His close relatives were informed.
“Anyone who has information or camera footage showing the motorcycle at the beginning of the collision should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Department on 0161 856 4741, citing 1913 21/05/22.”
