A 21-year-old man from Marystown was sentenced to almost two years in prison for driving for causing death.
William Pico was convicted Wednesday in a Grand Bank state court in connection with a crash near Rushoon nearly a year ago.
This happened shortly after 5 am on July 23, 2021.
Pico was treated in hospital for his injuries, but his 21-year-old passenger died on the spot.
Pico pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years less per day.
Once released, he will be on probation for three years and will be barred from driving for four years.
