A man is in custody after a series of alleged dog attacks in western Toronto.
Toronto police tweeted Saturday morning that the man had been arrested and that the dog had been handed over to animal services.
Early reports described the dog as probably a pit bull or mastiff, about 100 pounds.
The first incident occurred just before 3 a.m., near Lake Shore West and 3rd Street in Etobicoke.
The man allegedly got into an Uber and made his dog attack the driver. The driver was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Police say the car was taken.
Later, around 4:30 a.m., a woman was robbed of her bicycle around Norris Crescent. Police say the man made the dog attack her, leaving her with no life-threatening injuries.
Another parking lot was also attacked.
Shortly afterwards, police received a report of a man with a dog trying to steal a boat from the Etobicoke yacht club.
He was eventually followed by investigators.
The man and the dog are said to be involved in four attacks.
