A 27-year-old man has been arrested after two people were stabbed in Belfast city center in the early hours of Saturday morning.
olice were alerted by a member of the public just after 1.15am on Bedford Street reporting a fight in the area.
Police then found a man with multiple stab wounds to his head and chest. He was taken to hospital by ambulance.
After that, the police received reports that a man with a knife fled in the direction of Amelia Street, where he stabbed a second man.
Emergency services attended and the second man was treated by an ambulance crew for an upper chest wound.
A 27-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident remains in police custody at this time.
Inspector Donna McGrady said: “The injuries to both men are not believed to be life-threatening at this stage. We have made an arrest in this connection and action is on to establish the circumstances.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything or has information that could help to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 162 of 07/02/22.
