Toronto’s Union Station was locked down Saturday night after a nearby shooting left one person dead.
The shooting happened in front of Union Station and Scotiabank Arena near York St. and Bremner Blvd., shortly after the Blue Jays game ended.

Police received several calls about the incident around 7:30 p.m. They say early investigations led them to believe the shooting was targeted.
Neither the age nor the name of the victim has been released.
Two male suspects fled the scene after the shooting, Toronto police duty inspector Paul Krawczyk said during a media briefing Saturday night.

One fled south on Lakeshore while the other hit the other at Union Station, leading to the lockdown.
After trains stopped entering and exiting the station, the blockade was lifted.
“I want people to know they can go home safe,” Krawczyk said, noting that police will be looking for footage of the incident.
“Police this evening reported that a shooting victim was found outside of Union Station and they ordered the station to be evacuated,” Metrolinx head of media and public relations Ann Marie Aikins told Global News, noting that she and her family are among the evacuees.

Suri Diaz, 29, was eating at Union Chicken in the station when security came and told customers in the restaurant to start slowly moving towards the exit.
“A few minutes later, the station was fully evacuated and the police were on the scene,” she told Global News.
Union Station has 300,000 visitors daily, according to its website.
