A man left with a serious head injury after a “shoulder” with golfers on a Scottish course

A man was left with a serious head injury after a “verbal quarrel” with a group of golfers.

Cops rushed to Cochrane Castle Golf Course in Johnstone at around 5.55pm on Sunday (May 1st) after being warned of an attack.

A 49-year-old man was rushed to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment of a severe head injury.

Police have launched an investigation and have now established that the man was involved in a “verbal altercation with a group of golfers”.

Of course, the dispute took place near the 16th green and the 17th on the court.

Everyone who has information is invited to appear.

Detective Sergeant Jason Buxton of Paisley Police said: “A man was seriously injured and it is imperative that we trace who is responsible.

“Officers are investigating the area after the incident.

“We believe that the area would be very busy with golfers and we would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact us.

“If you were in the area at the time, please reconsider and contact us if you have any information that may help our investigation.”
