A man was injured in an ATV crash

COSAR members were called to the High Rim Trail area after the ATV overturned, leaving its rider with serious head injuries.
A man was seriously injured after an ATV incident that occurred on Saturday near Lake Country, according to Central Okanagan Search and Rescue.
In a statement, COSAR said members were called on Saturday night to help ambulance crews with medical rescue on the High Rim trail, between Lake Country and Oyama.
“A man was driving an ATV back to his campsite when he turned around, throwing the rider,” COSAR said.
“He received serious head injuries. Shortly afterwards, he was found by two motorcyclists, who immediately gave first aid and called 911.
COSAR said the search and rescue team arrived at the scene as paramedics took the man into an ambulance.
According to a statement from COSAR, his crew was shot down but remained on the runway to ensure that the ambulance was able to leave the area safely.
COSAR said it was his eighth call in June and his 47th in 2022.
