A man riding a mobility scooter died in a car accident. It happened on Alchester Road South, Kings Heath, near the intersection with Livingston Road, yesterday afternoon, June 16.
Paramedics provided sophisticated support for the life of the man, who was in critical condition but nothing could be done to save him. He was pronounced dead at the site, which was closed for several hours.
A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance said: “Upon arrival, the crews found a patient, a man, from the mobility scooter. The man was seriously injured in the accident and was found to be in critical condition.

“The ambulance staff immediately began to provide advanced life support, but unfortunately, despite all their efforts, it became clear that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

Two ambulances, a paramedic, a MERIT trauma doctor and the West Midlands care team were present at the incident.
BirminghamLive contacted West Midlands police for comment. In a statement yesterday, the force said: “We were called to a serious collision involving a car and a scooter for mobility on Alchester Road South, near the intersection with Livingston Road, Brandwood, shortly after 2.30 pm today.
