A newborn baby boy was found in a basket with an umbilical cord in Grimsby.
The baby was found in a brown bin for garden waste at a property around 5 pm on Sunday, Grimsby Live reports.
Reports say a concerned resident heard crying from the bucket and, after opening the lid, found the baby among the cut grass.
The boy is being treated in hospital, it was understood.
His young mother was also followed up and taken to hospital, where she was cared for by the relevant authorities.
After being alerted shortly before 5pm on Sunday, there was a strong response from Humberside Police and the East Midlands Ambulance Service.
At least four police cars and vans were on the scene, as well as two ambulances.
Police officers were spotted conducting house-to-house inquiries and interviewing shocked residents.

Medical teams were on the scene in minutes and a police cordon was set up.
A spokesman for the East Midlands Ambulance said: “We received a call at 4.58pm on June 19 at a private address in Grimsby.
“The caller called for emergency medical care. We sent two ambulances with a crew and two patients were taken to the hospital of Diana, Princess of Wales.”

Humberside police told GrimsbyLive on Sunday: “Officers are attending a property on Winchester Avenue following reports of security concerns earlier tonight (Sunday, June 19).
“Aid has been provided to those affected. There are no problems or risks for the wider community. “
The Quiet Street is home to families and retirees in two-family and terraced houses.
