A public safety alert was issued in La Ronge after shots were fired at police

UPDATE: The signal for dangerous persons with firearms in Air Ronge / La Ronge has been canceled. Several people have been detained. The person whose photo was released with the previous alarm has not yet been found. Police are still looking for him. His identity has not been confirmed. The public must remain vigilant. Police remain on the scene and the public can expect an increased police presence in the Air Ronge / La Ronge area.

The Saskatchewan RCMP issued a public safety alert after police shots were fired at 12:40 a.m. Sunday.

The RCMP said they were looking for two men with pistols, one described as short, with dark hair with shaved sides, dressed in dark trousers and a dark shirt with gold patterns on the sleeves and dark trousers. Last seen walking in the Far Reserve Road area in Air Ronge. Possible surveillance to the north on highway number 2. The police also attached a photo in their message.
