A spokesman said: “The 25-year-old man was arrested earlier today on suspicion of attempted murder and is now in custody awaiting questioning.”
Police were called to Sutton Road at around 6:10 a.m. yesterday, where it was reported that a man had been stabbed.
A 31-year-old man was found with serious injuries. He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where he remains in stable condition.
This comes after police released a photo of a man they are looking for in connection with Sunday’s incident.
A man was stabbed in Wellington on Friday night after a car accident. Police arrested Sagir Khan, 45, of Bush Close, Telford, and he has since been charged with unlawful premeditated injury. He was detained before appearing in July.
And on Saturday morning, another man was stabbed in Wellington, this time Fowlers Close. The victim, 52-year-old Mark Espley, died on the spot. The 64-year-old suspect, John William Walker, appeared in court today and was remanded in custody before appearing in Stafford court tomorrow.
