Police and paramedics found the 37-year-old woman and five-year-old boy in Brookside South, Barnett, at 1:37 p.m. Tuesday, but were unable to save them.
The detectives of the murder squad continue to interrogate a 37-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder. He is known to the Chinese family.
The mother is the 15th woman killed in an act of violence in London in 2022 – a third of the 46 murders investigated by the Metropolitan, British Transport and London Police.
The ratio is higher than at the same time last year, when 13 of the 58 victims were women.

Detectives on Wednesday searched for evidence and demanded a camera for video and video surveillance on the rich street, where homes cost more than 800,000 British pounds.
A neighbor said: “They looked like a perfect family.
“We saw the mother take her two boys to the local school every day. She was always smiling and we just can’t believe what happened.
“It’s a very quiet neighborhood. The first thing I found out about what was happening was the air ambulance washing nearby. We are all horrified by what happened. “

Another resident added: “This is a nightmare – the last place you would imagine this to happen. “They are a quiet family in this house, absolutely nothing bad.”
A third added: “They are such reserved people in this house that you would not understand that they are there. They are extremely private – the children were in local schools. We are devastated that this has happened in our community. “
A mother of two said her death made her feel scared.
Becky, 39, who did not give her last name, told neighbors: “Oh my God, it’s just shocking, it really is.
“Yes, I knew the family, a nice, quiet Chinese family, from China. I’m bad with names.
“I am the mother of two girls of the same age (as a child victim), they have never played, but they have met before.
“I cried so much, especially earlier, when I heard that a child was involved, it was devastating.
Rumana Chowdhury, a 37-year-old mother of two, said: “I don’t know them, it’s definitely very sad, it’s a shame.
“I can’t believe it, it’s unbelievable.
“It’s both scary and sad, because this morning everything was fine and suddenly it happened.”
Chief Superintendent Sarah Leach, commander of the Northwest Police of Met, said: “The whole community will be shocked and saddened to hear about this horrific incident.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman and child who died, as well as with the officers and paramedics who were the first to arrive on an incredibly challenging stage.
“Specialized detectives are working to find out what happened and one man is in custody.
“While they have no idea what happened, I would like to assure the residents of the local area that at this stage there is nothing to show that someone else is involved in this incident.
“I would urge anyone who has seen or heard something unusual earlier or in recent days to come forward and talk to the police. Your information may be vital as the investigation progresses.
