A Vernon-based semi-truck is crossing dangerously on the BC Highway

There was another call for drivers on the BC highway. Footage from Dashcam on Skilled Truckers Canada’s Facebook page shows a semi-truck dangerously crossing double solid lines on Highway 97, approximately 20 minutes south of 100 Mile House.

According to the page, a witness said that the white truck tried to pass the red truck near the end of the lanes, but the red truck did not allow it.

“Both vehicles are in error. Watch the speeds of the red truck. He deliberately accelerated to prevent the white truck from returning in front of him, “said Skilled Truckers Canada.

“Unfortunately, this behavior is the reason people die on our highways.

The video was posted on Skilled Truckers Canada’s Facebook page on Friday, but it is unclear when the incident occurred.

DCT Chambers Trucking, the company that owns the white truck carrying the dangerous passage, said it did not know about the video or the incident before Global News contacted.

“It was a very serious situation that we almost missed. We will conduct a full safety review as soon as possible. Our entire fleet is equipped with satellite tracking devices and control cameras; which will help in our investigation, “Chambers Transportation Group President Ryan Chambers said in a statement.

“The type of driving behavior shown in the video is unacceptable and we will take immediate action.”

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said that when they receive information about dangerous driving and commercial vehicles, the information is shared with the Ministry of Commercial Vehicle Safety and Law Enforcement (CVSE).

“In general, the commercial truck industry is extremely professional and safety-conscious. However, there are cases, such as a dangerous omission and subsequent refusal, recorded on video, which are obviously dangerous, “said a statement from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

“The CVSE will give priority to the inspection of both vehicles and drivers and will follow up to determine appropriate action.”
