The A48 in Westbury-on-Severn is closed in both directions after a serious collision between a minibus and a pedestrian in the early hours of Monday morning. The crash was confirmed at 2.15 p.m.
The A48 is closed from the junction with the A4151 Elton Road to the A40 turnoff for Highnam. Police warned that the closure is likely to remain in place for “some time, including rush hour”.
Meanwhile, drivers are advised to look for an alternative route. Police later confirmed that the man had died.

Police in Gloucestershire said: “Police were called at 12.30pm with a collision alert involving a pedestrian and a Ford Transit minibus on the A48 in Westbury-on-Severn.
“Emergency services have arrived and the pedestrian, a 41-year-old man from Dean Forest, has been pronounced dead on the spot. His close relatives and the investigator have been notified.
“It is not believed that the passengers in the van were injured.
“Officers investigating the clash want to hear anyone who may have relevant footage from the video camera or who has witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police.
