The province is warning that air quality in Central Newfoundland is expected to worsen tomorrow.
The forecast calls for a change in wind direction, meaning more smoke will be on its way to Grand Falls-Windsor, Bishops Falls and Botwood overnight between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Friday.
Current forecasts do not indicate that the smoke will be as intense as it was before.
Although no evacuation order is required at this time, the government is recommending that people stay indoors. People at higher risk for health problems can leave on their own or by using one of the four buses provided at the Deer Lake shelter. They will run between 11:00am and 5:00pm in Bishop’s Falls, Grand Falls-Windsor and Botwood.
