Following a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign in February this year, Chris Star Star and Trevor Yunquist’s upcoming stunning Metroidvania Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus has won several notable names in the Metroid fan community.
Members of the team behind Another Metroid 2 Remake (AM2R) have joined this Japanese-inspired action search game, which developers say took a sheet from Hollow Knight and Okami’s books.
Initially, Stair and Youngquist worked on the project themselves, but now they are joined by these three renowned names who know a thing or two about the Metroidvania genre – Milton Guasti (DoctorM64, AM2R director and level designer for Ori and the Will of the Wisps). , Esteban Criado (DruidVorse, AM2R’s Leading Playtester and Metroidvania’s Speedrunner) and Robert Maloney (Sephazon, AM2R producer and Pokémon Symphonic Evolutions contributor). The three of them will work as an associate designer, head of QA and head of production and publishing of Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus and what kind of team to include in this beautiful looking project.

Using beautiful hand-painted aesthetics to create mesmerizing levels, characters and environments, Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus follows Bo, a celestial color that must overcome obstacles and fight dangerous enemies after revealing the secrets behind the rise of the mighty. shogun. Bo will use his wand to bounce around these Japanese watercolor worlds and you will be treated to a feast for the eyes and a whole boat of Japanese folklore.

There’s a penny a dozen Metroidvanias on the Switch, but with Bo’s beautiful visuals and the pedigree behind him, we’re extremely excited to see how this one turns out.
