The teenager fell into a drunken stupor during a family night – and then played dead while being chased by police.
McDonald’s employee Chelsea Henley, 18, kicked a patrol car during a night out before falling to the ground and keeping her eyes closed as a police officer struggled to pick her up. Henley had gone out to dinner with her family last month in Warrington, where she was drinking heavily.
She was given a chance and advised to go home, but she defiantly pushed the policeman in the chest. She was eventually thrown into a police van, where she kicked the police before being escorted to a cell to sober up.

The court heard that she was initially accused by the police of being drunk and received the charge of assault only after an examination by CPS lawyers. Condemning Henley, the presiding judge, Catherine Whitaker told her: “I hope you don’t think it was a good night, given that you were in court. It certainly doesn’t seem like a good night to me.
“Emergency workers must be protected in their work and must not expect to be attacked in their work. There will be no compensation, but I hope you will take this into account and we will not see each other again. “
The court heard officers spotted a drunken Henley in the Bridge Street area of downtown Warrington in the early hours of May 29.
“PC Pringle was on duty in uniform with another officer at 2.15am in downtown Warrington when their attention was drawn to the defendant,” said prosecutor Alex Morgan.
“She then walked around and approached the PC Pringle and kicked his vehicle. It did no damage, but she fell to the floor. She remained on the floor with her eyes closed, but still breathing.
“PC Brown tried to wake her up, but the defendant would only get up when she was informed that she would be arrested.

The court also heard that the officer had ordered Henley to leave the area to which she responded by pushing him with both hands to his chest. “PC Pringle lowered the accused to the floor and arrested her for police assault,” Ms Morgan added.
“When she was placed in the back of the police vehicle, she tried to kick before being detained and placed in the back of the police vehicle. The court was then informed that Henley had never appeared in court before.

Mitigation attorney Gary Sculler said: “This is clearly not typical. She was out during the evening with family and friends and apparently drank too much alcohol. He was found to be intoxicated in the presence of his family.
“She pushed PC Pringle, but nothing else. There is mention of her being kicked out, but this does not include contact with police. The police clearly examined all the evidence and decided that the level of the crime was low and this would only charge her with drunkenness and disorder.
“She has never been officially interviewed for anything else. However, the CPS has an obligation to review the allegations, and they have done so. She pleaded guilty at the first opportunity. “
