An accident with a city bus leads to reduced fares

The incident happened around 3 pm yesterday

A 66-year-old man is facing trespassing charges following an incident that happened earlier this week.

In a news release issued today, the Sault Ste. Marie Police say they responded to a crash between a pickup truck and a city bus just after 3:00 pm yesterday in the parking lot of the 400 block of Great Northern Road.

Police say that after an investigation it was determined that the driver of the pickup truck was impaired and as a result Jeffrey Knott was arrested and charged with:

  • impaired work and
  • operation with a blood alcohol concentration above 80 mg.

The accused is due in court on October 3.
