Eight people were transported to area hospitals — four of whom were critically injured — and six other people were treated at the scene and released, the Arlington County Police Department said.
The crash happened at the Four Courts Irish Pub and Restaurant in the 2000 block of Wilson Boulevard, according to police. The restaurant released a statement Friday night saying it was “devastated” by the incident. The fire in the building has been extinguished, according to a tweet from the Arlington County Fire Department. Civil engineers have “assessed the structure and found it to be structurally sound, but not re-occupied,” Arlington police said on social media.
The crash investigation is ongoing, police said.
