Bahamas shark attack: British boy, 8, pulled to safety after being bitten on holiday | News

An eight-year-old British boy was mauled by sharks during a family holiday in the Bahamas.

Finley Downer was pulled to safety by his sister after being bitten by at least three nurse sharks. He has wounds to his legs and was taken by golf buggy to the nearest clinic.

Finley’s father, Michael Downer, 44, said: “My son could have been killed. It was like a scene from Jaws.”

Downer, a sales executive, and his children — Lily, 9, and Emily, 12, as well as Finley — were on a five-island trip that included a guided swim with nurse sharks, iguanas and pigs at Compass Cay. On a neighboring island later in the tour, they spotted sharks in a lagoon in the middle
