Barcelona are asking for patience with Sevilla’s Jules Conde as they attempt to hijack his move to Chelsea.
While the London club have agreed a fee in excess of £50m with Sevilla and finalized the terms of the deal, Barcelona are yet to make a formal offer due to the need to sell players now.
The central midfielder is inclined to go to Chelsea, but his preferred option is Camp Nou. Barcelona are trying to play on this by speeding up their moves to try and sell players.
Frenkie de Jong is again pressed that the club “needs” him. The Dutch midfielder has remained steadfast in his position, especially as he is owed €17 million in deferred wages.
The Independent have been told that Barcelona have made an initial bid to try to resolve the matter and have him go to Manchester United in a deal worth over £70m, but that is still over €10m short of the amount De Jong owns.
Until this situation is resolved or Barca make other sales, they are unlikely to move forward with Kunde. They subsequently asked the 23-year-old for more time, in another situation where the Catalan club have held up the market.
Barcelona’s financial offer to Sevilla would also cost less as a complete package.
