Pressure from people took over BART on Monday to reach San Francisco for the Warriors parade, which led to long queues at ticket offices and limited cellular service at stations.
The transit agency encourages people traveling by train to avoid long queues for tickets by adding the Clipper card app to their phones and adding funds immediately. BART also advised people to download the app in areas away from stations for better cellular service.
“The Clipper app is experiencing some payment and purchase issues,” a tweet from the Bay Area Clipper said. “We recommend that you load your Clipper card before entering @SFBART or moving away from stations for better cellular service. We currently have an internal team investigating and apologizing for the inconvenience. “
BART posted a picture on Twitter showing a long line of people at Dublin train station waiting to buy Clipper cards.
This is the line to buy Clipper at Dublin Station right now. We have a Clipper card sales desk at the station and we encourage people to add a digital card to their phone and add funds immediately. But it’s a good idea of how busy it will be today. pic.twitter.com/Lxsu0zwYqb

BART officials said Richmond to San Francisco service resumed at 9 a.m. Monday after the transit agency canceled the service over the weekend, running only trains on the orange line. The news came on a day when hundreds of thousands of people are expected to pour into San Francisco for a parade of soldiers.
On Monday, riders coming to and from the Richmond Line can expect trains to arrive every 15 minutes in both directions until 8pm, when trains will run every 30 minutes.

“Some trains will be trains on the orange line (Richmond to Beries) and some trains will be trains on the red line (Richmond-Milbray + SFO),” BART said.
BART added: “Transbay passengers without direct service can expect a transfer between the Orange Line (Berryessa) and the Yellow Line (SF / SFO) train to San Francisco at MacArthur Station and a transfer between the Yellow Line (Antioch) ) train and train Orange Line (Richmond), coming from San Francisco on the 19th St. Oakland Station. A shuttle train will be provided between Millbrae and SFO to connect to the Yellow line service (Antioch-SFO). “
BART first had problems on the red line on Friday due to a power cord failure. Over the weekend, the red line was completely lifted and only trains ran on the orange line (Richmond to Beries).
It is unclear when direct service between Richmond and San Francisco will resume; the warrior parade is scheduled to begin at 11:20 p.m.
BART said the teams are working to identify the location of the cable failure and once that is over, they will replace the cable. Although the problem is similar to the one that caused the cancellation of trains in March 2022, the blame is elsewhere on the Richmond line, BART said.
“BART is working to replace all obsolete cables along the 10-mile Richmond line, and unfortunately these problems occurred before a complete replacement was achieved,” BART said.
