Starfield, the next big role-playing game by developers Elder Scrolls and Fallout Bethesda, has been postponed from release until 2022 until 2023, the company has just announced.
Originally scheduled for release in November 2022 for PC and Xbox consoles, it will now be released in the “first half of 2023.” He was joined by Redfall, the vampire shooter from Arkane Austin, who had to go out somewhere in the summer on the same platforms.
Bethesda issued a brief statement on the two delays, saying:
We decided to postpone the launch of Redfall and Starfield for the first half of 2023.
The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games and we want to ensure that you get the best, most polished versions of them.
We want to thank everyone for their excitement about Redfall and Starfield. This energy is a huge part of what inspires us all every day and drives our own excitement about what we create.
We can’t wait to share our first deep dive in the game for both Redfall and Starfield. Thank you for your support.
The last time we saw Starfield was eight seconds in March, when Ethan said:
Unless it’s delayed, the exclusive Starfield for the Xbox console will be released on November 11th. However, we haven’t watched Bethesda’s next game yet, except for last year’s movie trailer and a host of concept art.
It turned out that yes, there was a very good reason why we didn’t see anything from the game. We still don’t know much about it, other than what was revealed a few months ago, which, if you missed it, included:
- Oblivion’s mini-game to persuade the NPC is back in some form
- Four factions you can handle: United Colonies, Freestar Collective, Ryujin Industries and Crimson Fleet
- Joining United Colonies space cops won’t stop you from helping Crimson Fleet pirates
- Deeper character traits and background customization
- More realistic looking NPCs
